Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport once passed passport control, one of our representatives will be waiting to help you locate your luggage and indicate where the driver will be to take you to the selected hotel.
After breakfast at the lodge in Tortuguero, you will be met at the hotel to transfer you to the Tortuguero National Park, one of the most famous in Costa Rica. It is only accessible by plane (with an additional charge) or by boat, which is recommended because during the boat trip you can observe the great biological diversity of the area. Green turtles nest on the beaches of Tortuguero from July to October, but throughout the year you can see the variety of wildlife that exists in the area by taking part in the activities already included in the package.
Around mid-morning we will start our trip out of Tortuguero, one of our representatives will wait for you at the restaurant where you will have lunch to take you to the next destination, La Fortuna de San Carlos where the Arenal Volcano National Park is located. The area hashot springs and you will have enough time to enjoy activities such as hikes on the hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall or the National Park, rafting in the nearby rivers, zip-line adventures or horseback riding among others or simply enjoy the breathtaking views from the hotel pool.
On this day you will travel to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve located near the town of Santa Elena. The trip itself is an adventure, as it combines a car ride on one of the rural mountain roads with a one-hour boat ride through Lake Arenal. This area protects the biodiversity of the region and the water sources that supply several rivers in the country. You will have time to explore Monteverde where, in addition to other activities, you can also get a bird’s eye view of the forest canopy by way of hanging bridges or zip lines, as well as observe the great diversity of flora and fauna that the area offers.
Departure to the central Pacific coast of the country where Manuel Antonio is located. Its famous National Park offers beautiful beaches surrounded by lush vegetation, both inside and outside the park. On free days in this area you can combine relaxation on any of its beaches with some of the many activities available, such as nature walks, rafting, kayaking, zip-lining and sport fishing, among others.
Departure after breakfast to Sierpe where you will get the boat that will take you on an hour-long ride to the Corcovado National Park located in the Osa Peninsula. Corcovado is an ecological paradise with a wonderful coastline, mangroves, and amazing biological diversity. Ranging over more than 41,000 hectares, the park protects several species of fauna and vegetation, some of them endemic. You can enjoy two activities during your stay, a walk to the national park and the next day, a snorkeling excursion on Isla del Caño, both including a delicious picnic-style lunch.
The staff of the lodge in Corcovado will take you to the local airport at Drake Bay to get the flight back to the city. San José is the Costa Rican capital and is home to the largest concentration of museums, parks, theaters and historic buildings.
