Arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport, once passed passport control, one of our representatives will be waiting to help you locate your luggage and indicate where the driver will be to take you to the selected hotel.
After the personal breakfast at the lodge in Tortuguero, you will be met at the hotel to transfer you to the Tortuguero National Park, one of the most famous in Costa Rica. It is only accessible by plane (with an additional charge) or by boat, which is recommended because during the boat trip you can observe the great biological diversity of the area. Green turtles nest on the beaches of Tortuguero from July to October, but throughout the year you can see the variety of wildlife that exists in the area by taking part in the activities already included in the package.
Halfway through the morning we will start our trip out of Tortuguero, to El Ceibo Restaurant in Guapiles where, after lunch, one of our representatives will deliver your rental car for the rest of the trip. The next destination is Arenal Volcano National Park and the picturesque town of La Fortuna. The area has hot springs and you will have enough time to enjoy activities such as hikes on hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall or the National Park, rafting in nearby rivers, zip-line adventures or horseback riding, among others, or simply enjoy the breathtaking views from the hotel pool.
Departure after breakfast to the Flamingo area, located in the province of Guanacaste. With its white sand beaches, this area stands out for its warm climate and its great variety of activities such as fishing, horseback riding, hiking, visits to nature reserves, surface and deep-sea diving. Among many other options, you can also visit the nearby beaches of Potrero, Conchal and Tamarindo. During your three-day stay you’ll enjoy scuba-diving excursions in the areas surrounding the Catalina islands, which is considered to be one of the best diving spots in Costa Rica.
On this day you will travel to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve located near the town of Santa Elena. This area protects the biodiversity of the region and the water sources that supply several rivers in the country. You will have time to explore Monteverde where, in addition to other activities, you can also get a bird’s eye view of the forest canopy by way of hanging bridges or zip lines, as well as observe the great diversity of flora and fauna that the area offers.
Departure for San José, the Costa Rican capital and home to the largest concentration of museums, parks, theaters and historic buildings. There is a wide variety of restaurants and entertainment options as well as markets and craft centers where you can make any last-minute purchases. San José is an ideal place to get first-hand exposure to Costa Rica’s cultural diversity.
