San José

To begin your vacation in Costa Rica by its capital city is a good idea. San José is the geographic, economic and social center of the country. A destination to discover some of its points of interest such as the National Theater, the pre-Columbian museums of jade and gold and walk through the Central Avenue up until the picturesque Central Market.

Although not many people live in the city (less than 30,000 inhabitants), almost two million people go across it every day. It is a relatively small city, but it is immersed in the GAM “Great Metropolitan Area”, where several towns of the Central Valley join.

Besides, it is the cultural and historic center of Costa Rican, uniting in a few blocks, museums of contemporary art, numismatics and history, parks, squares and a great gastronomic offer.

Day 2

Tortuguero

On this day you go from your hotel to Guápiles, across the Braulio Carrillo National Park, a great reserve that offers landscapes, numerous waterfalls and diversity of climates that peaks the Central Volcanic Mountain Range. Also, across the roadtrip you can see plantations and small towns before getting to the pier where the boat travels through the Tortuguero canals to your lodge.

The Tortuguero National Park is located in the Northern Caribbean of Costa Rica. It contains several rainforest ecosystems with rich biodiversity and the beach, which allows to observe the sea turtles lay their eggs every year.

You have the option to go across the Tortuguero River and visit the small town of the same name, which characterizes by the total absence of streets, automobiles, or traffic signs.

Day 3

Tortuguero

During this day you will enjoy the nature of Tortuguero in a boattour by its numerous canals, observing the impressive biodiversity and secrets of the rainforest in this complex labyrinth of jungle and canals.

After this, you will have time to leisure to rest by the pool, explore the gardens and surrounding jungle or book an optional activity.

In September, we recommend you the night tour to see the turtles nesting (additional cost).

*The schedules and order of activities are defined by the guide on the first day depending on the weather conditions and the behavior of the animals.

Día 4

This day you will get your rental car to start your way to Arenal, in this route you will find exuberant cloud forests, which in the afternoons fill the road with a white mantle.

Arenal

To the Northwest of Costa Rica is the Arenal Volcano, one of the most famous tourists and adventure centers in the country. It is a touristic region full of adventures, excursions to appreciate its nature, cultural experiences, several thermal water complexes, and multiple spas.

the closest town to Arenal Volcano is La Fortuna, in this tourist center you can find all kinds of shops, banks, supermarkets, pharmacies and a great gastronomic offer.

The Arenal is a perfect cone surrounded by rainforests and is considered one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world.

Day 5

Free Day!

This day you have free to rest, enjoy the hotel and its facilities or to book other activities that the are offered in the area.

Between the adventures you can enjoy of rappel down waterfalls, long zip lines that take you between the trees, rafting in rivers surrounded by the impressive jungle, and even from kayaking or paddleboard in the lake.

If what you like is nature, photography or bird watching, we recommend a walk in the National Park, the lavas trails, the cable car and the hanging bridges in the rainforest.

Day 6

This day you will travel through the impressive Nicoya Peninsula up to Playa Carrillo, where days of sunshine and tranquility await you to recharge batteries and continue this journey through Costa Rica.

Sámara/Carrillo

Carrillo is in Guanacaste Province, south from Sámara Beach in the Nicoya Peninsula. The beaches contained within 10 kilometers from each other, are surrounded by dry tropical forest and by their geographical position they uphold the impression of hidden paradise; that other destinations have lost in their growing popularity, keeping also their Blue Ecologic Flag (that distinguish it as one of the cleanest beaches in Costa Rica).

Monteverde

In the Monteverde region we find a wide variety of species in flora and fauna in a combination of magnificent cloud forests, humid and rainy in an area of more than 26,000 hectares.

Located in the Intercontinental Water Division, means that its climate is varied and unpredictable because there are seasons in the year in which its influence comes from the Caribbean and others in which it comes from the Pacific Ocean.

Monteverde heightens the senses to the magic of nature in a forest with multiple activities and a landscape that is often foggy.

This area, which began as a Quaker community, went from being a region of dairy and cheese production to a diverse and successful tourist destination where hotels, restaurants and all sorts of activities abound, making sure you won’t get bored.

This day if for you to choose one of the multiple optional excursiones in the area. You can explore the interesting flora and fauna of the region, multiple trails, and adventure activities as hiking, zip lines (some of the highest and longest cables in the country), hanging bridges, and observation of hummingbirds and birds for those who love photography.

Day 11

This day you will travel from the mountains of the Cordillera de Tilarán to the plains of the Central Pacific, passing through the different landscapes that will show you that the diversity of this small country.

The Manuel Antonio area combines paradisiacal beaches with the tropical rainforest.

Manuel Antonio

One of the most complete vacation destinations in Costa Rica with lush tropical nature and surrounded by agriculture, this small national park offers such abundant wildlife where you can observe monkeys, sloths, coatis, agoutis and iguanas.

Manuel Antonio National Park is a small wildlife sanctuary surrounded by thousands of hectares dedicated 100% to agriculture and livestock.

Beautiful beaches, clean and warm waters, amazing forests, an abundant variety of animals, and the possibility of many activities ranging from extreme adventure to experiences with Costa Rican peasants that will allow you to know something of the culture of the Costa Rican South Pacific.

This National Park is CLOSED on Mondays.

This day you can simply take it easy and enjoy the hotel facilities, go to the nearby port of Quepos and the marina next to it or maybe you want to do some of the activities in the region.

If you are a nature lover, we recommend a walk in the lush Manuel Antonio National Park.

If you like adventure, there are zip lines through the forest with the marine landscape in the background, paragliding to observe the forest, the coast and the nearby islands or water activities such as surfing, paddleboard, kayaks in the sea or in mangroves.

Day 14

On this day you will return to San Jose to deliver the car to the Rent a Car office near the airport.
