Hiking at Rincon de la Vieja and to Las Chorreras Waterfall is a mild adventure for those who enjoy walking in nature and swimming in a natural setting.
The setting is in the ancient Guachipelín Hacienda, a working ranch that has developed a flourishing adventure center for visitors and guests to its hotel. It is sitting amid the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and surrounded by the rare tropical dry forest.
With a longer sunny season than the rest of the country. The hacienda is a thriving, sustainable project and has turned into one of the adventure hubs of Costa Rica.
You will enjoy walking on an easy trail with the pristine air of the Guanacaste mountains and the brisk ambiance of cowboys and cattle in the surroundings. As well as the undeniable freedom sensation of taking a dip in a waterfall pond surrounded by wilderness.
The hike starts at the Adventure Center of Hacienda Guachipelín, where you will meet your tour guide. Then you will start walking for approximately thirty minutes until you arrive at the gorgeous canyon of the Chorreras Waterfalls. A set of twin waterfalls that drop into a blue, green pond surrounded by huge volcanic rocks. The view is stunning.
You can bring your bathing suit under your clothes or change in the area as there are dressing rooms.
After taking a swim and relaxing in Las Chorreras, you will walk back to the Hacienda Adventure Center.
