The one-day adventure pass offers an excellent chance to encounter all the best and most thrilling adventures of Costa Rica in one day in one place!
Hacienda Guachipelin is a working cattle ranch, found next to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park in the Guanacaste province, holds over 3,000 acres with three different rivers crossing through stunning canyons and forming waterfalls.
You will ride horses, climb rock walls, swing through trees, canyons, and even waterfalls, zipline, and wrap it up bathing in natural thermal waters and volcanic mud.
You will start at the adventure center of Hacienda Guachipelin, where your guides will help you with all the needed gear for the day’s experiences.
The order of attractions may change depending on the daily conditions and the weather.
You’ll get lockers and have changing rooms to put aside your things.
You will go first to the stables where a guide will help you get on your horse and then drive you along a farm road and into the tropical dry forest. The disappearing tropical dry forests are rated as one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world as it is quickly caught in a fire or cut for human development.
Hacienda Guachipelín has a continuous reforestation project to renovate this habitat as you will witness.
These horses are well treated and behaved; they know their way through the area so, you don’t have to have any experience for this part of the tour.
If you are an experienced rider and want a more active horse, please let us know in advance or at the time of reservation.
Horses will take you to the next thrilling activity.
Ziplining through the forest started in Costa Rica, and it’s probably the favorite experience for visitors. Your tour guides will gear you up and receive a safety briefing before getting on the first platform.
Your tour starts with slower and shorter cables. There are 12 platforms and 7 cables to allow you to get into the experience in a slow but firm pace.
You will zipline through the stunning Rio Blanco Canyon and over the tropical forest, and easily swing through the air and a waterfall as if you were Tarzan.
You will also go across a hanging bridge, enjoy a 65 feet-controlled rappel and climb a rock wall.
A short ride on a bus will take you to enjoy a fun and wet activity: Tubing on the Rio Negro.
You will receive your gear and a safety talk before getting on board of your personal raft. And then go tubing approximately 5 kilometers (3 miles) downriver and enclosed by astonishing landscapes.
Depending on the time of year and the rainfall, in this river, there might be rapids up to Class IV; if you have any concerns, check at the time of reservation.
You will break the day with a delicious buffet lunch back at the Hacienda Guachipelín
As the last part of this fantastic day, you will go across a hanging bridge to the Rio Negro natural hot springs.
The natural thermae have six different temperature pools, and the 7th is filled with volcanic mud that you can use to cover yourself before washing off in the hot springs or the chillier waters of the river.
