Overview

This wonderful Rafting Sarapiqui River (Class III and IV) tour takes place at Hacienda Pozo Azul.

Hacienda Pozo Azul is a pillar of the thriving region of the Sarapiqui River. Originally a cattle ranch and a dairy producer, this family business has been here already for decades, constantly dedicated to improving the quality of life of the people of the area with sustainable tourism experiences.

Nowadays, even though the farm is still very productive, the drive goes more and more into the clean travel industry.

As you arrive in the Hacienda, you will be indicated to the dressing rooms where you can safely leave all your things and change into comfortable and flexible clothes or your bathing suit.

Closed-toe shoes are a must.

Your tour will begin as you join your professional river guides and they take you to the edge of the Sarapiqui, where you will have a safety and instructions briefing as well as some of the commands needed for the teamwork that you will experience once on the river and in the rapids.

They will also give you the equipment that you require for the trip, life vest, the helmet, and paddle; they will tell you how to manage it as well as how to get in the movements of the rapids.

Right after you jump on your raft and get ready to have fun!

The tour goes for 2 1/2 hours approximately, packed with entertainment and emotions.

You will relish in rapids named “Morning Coffee”, “Peraltica”, “Terminator”, and “Los Locos” (The madmen) that will keep the adrenaline racing creating a memory that will last forever.

But this is not only about the amazing river rafting, as the Sarapiqui in its higher points is surrounded by pristine rainforests.

You may see of groups of capuchin or howler monkeys, three and two-toed sloths, green iguanas, emerald basilisks, and many species of birds.
